Greenopia data platform & app
Greenopia helps people find businesses with real sustainability practices. I work on the data foundation underneath the app: getting a large, inconsistent set of business records into a clean, trustworthy shape, then keeping good data flowing into what users actually see.
The problem
The useful version of a product like this depends on the data behind it. Early on, business records were spread across sources, inconsistent, and far larger in volume than what could be shown cleanly in the app. The work was to make that data dependable and to build a repeatable path from raw records to the production view.
What I built
I reorganized a database of more than 300,000 businesses into a consistent structure, so the same fields meant the same thing across sources.
I built scraping and enrichment pipelines that added detail to more than 30,000 records, and enriched more than 50,000 businesses for the production app.
I built an ingestion API and an automated transfer path that moved more than 400 businesses into the mobile app, joining onboarding data to the app's live view. I also built internal tools so the team could manage customer data directly.
These figures describe separate stages of the work and shouldn't be read as one running total. Reorganizing records, enriching them, and moving them into the app were distinct tasks on different slices of the data.
Tools
Python and Pandas for the pipelines, Firebase for data, React on the app side, and Google Sheets where the team needed a shared working surface.
